Family Poems

Family

By Ryan Denman

My family is not normal

You look at them once you can tell

My sister is screaming while my mother is telling her to stop,

This is usually followed by a very loud yell.

Not knowing what is happening my father just ignores.

But when my father noticed you can always hear him roar.

From my room to the front porch the whole house is shaking

From the toilet to the TV everything starts shaking.

So my family is loud

And everyone knows it.

When they don't get their way

They make sure that they show it.

But with my family

Though loud and stubborn,

I can live happily,

And with out them I would burn.

Burn by a fire of deep desire.

A desire for love.

A love to creep into my heart through my barbwire.

An iner pease that heals like the cooing of a dove.

Two Homes

by Cooper Ehlers

Two christmas parties as well as birthdays,

Two families niether complete,

Two homes each lacking the oppostie half,

Two parents nearly competing.

two of us having to decide,

two of us mysister and I,

two of us choosing where we would perfer to live,

two of us attempting to make eachhouse complete.

we do not want to disappoint,

we do not want them to feel hurt,

we do no want to anger either of them,

we just want to have one home, one family, not lacking in either halves.

Together Forever

by: Valerie Fernandez

Maybe not always at the dinner table,

Talking and waving their fork prong.

Anyways, isn't it just a fable?

The way everyone just always seems to get along?

Maybe not perfect in every way,

Maybe disagreeing at times,

But it's things like these that make us say,

That family differences aren't crimes.

But in every family there is one thing,

even if it takes a little shove

to get it out and make it sing,

that little thing is called love.

As little as this word may be,
it is what holds these families together.
No need to be found in a decree,
it unites the families now and forever.

Families Are What They Are
by: Marissa Gomez

They are all different, no matter how similar they seem,

And they all have problems, since none are perfect.

We all have one; they are our very own team,

And each of the team members we must respect.

They come in different colors and even shapes too.

And they can be big, or small, or anywhere in between!

Some may be broken, but can’t be fixed with glue.

Parents, kids, aunts and uncles sometimes even a crazy teen!

Whenever we need them, they will always be there.

They give us a shoulder to cry on, and wipe away every tear.

My family is what it is and no others can compare,

And their love always makes the bad things disappear.

                         Daddy
               By: Keira De Nicola

The biggest smile on my face while sitting in your lap,

Having you gently play with my hair as I would take a nap.

Being called your “princess” and “Daddy’s little girl”

Underneath your arm is where I would curl.

Those happier days, what used to be,

Now just seem like a dream to me.

The sorrow and sadness came the day you went away,

Now I feel this pain from day to day.

I miss you being here,

So far, and yet so near.

When I’m with you memories come flooding back to me

Wishing that you would never leave you see,

I need you in my life, I need you by my side

Someone to run to when life becomes a tide.

Pulling me in different directions, not knowing where to turn,

I just want to run into your arms without any concern.

Instead, I have feelings of disappointment and let down

Leaving me feeling sad with my face wearing a frown.

Maybe you will change one day, maybe, we’ll see,

But for right now, I just can’t seem to figure out why this has happened to me.

The Perfect Family

By: Julia Rappaport

Some people may want it,

But, in other's eyes, few have a perfect family.

A family who doesn't argue,

Or act differently.

A family where nothing is wrong.

A family where no one gets in trouble,

A family that does everything correctly,

And everyone gets along.

Why have a perfect family,

When you can have that is special and your own?

A family who cares for you,

Understands you,

Enjoyable and fun.

Yea, you may argue,

You may fight with siblings,

But family is family.

Perfect is one person's eyes, isn't perfect in another's eyes.

So instead of aiming for a family others think is perfect,

I'll stick to my own family.

Perfect in its own way.

Your Family Will Always Love You

By: Nicole Bartels

They will always love you,

no matter what.

Even if you play a kazoo,

or eat macadamia nuts,

they will always love you.

They don't care what you wear,

or what you look like,

or how you do your hair.

They don't care if you can't ride a bike.

They will always love you.

They don't care if you are too tall,

or too short.

Or if you look like a beach ball,

or if you can't play sports.

They will always love you.

As long as you are nice,

and loving just like them,

they will not think twice,

about supporting you from the A.M to the P.M

because...

They will always love you.

What is a Family?

By: Lauren Farello

A braid in the

Golden hair of

A guardian angel

Watching from Heaven.

Intertwined, Connected,

Attached, Inseparable.

A complex 3D puzzle

Shoved in the back

Of an old shelf,

Waiting. . .

Difficult, Confusing,

Problematic, Hurtful.

A ball of colorful yarn,

Used for stitching a blanket

Filled with love and compassion.

Diverse, Beautiful,

Comforting, Developing.

A nurturing mother,

A gentle father,

A giving sister,

A sweet sister.

Stuck together

Like an angel’s braid;

Neglected and distant

Like an old puzzle;

Different and vibrant

Like a ball of yarn.

This is my life.

This is my family.

                    Each and Every Day

                      By: Carolina Paredes

Those people who love unconditionallly,

they do everything so traditionally.

The people who know you best,

who even  forgive you when you’ve been a mess.

Even if your family isn’t blood related,

conjugated by the love they created.

Remebering the memories shared from the start,

that are forever engraved in my heart.

They have taught me right from wrong,

because that’s the way they say we belong.

They are the people who I call heroes,

because of the fact their imperfections has been zero.

No doubt my family is unusual in many ways,

but I will always love them each and every day.

Because of My Family

By: Jesse Humphries

Feeling secure when I go to bed,

No bad thoughts in my head.

That is because of my family.

Laughing at the dinner table,

But knowing life is no fable.

That is because of my family.

Knowing someone cares when I’m sad,

Knowing someone cares when I’m glad.

That is because of my family.

Feeling sensitivity, devotion, love,

Fitting snuggly together in a hand-knit glove

That is because of my family.

Sharing sad feelings from loss and casualty

Helping each other realize the sad reality

That is because of my family.

The feeling of support and strength when lost,

Knowing they’re there at any cost.

That is because of family.

Who I am today,

My person on display.

Who I will be tomorrow,

Hopefully with little sorrow.

That is because of my family

Family

By Max Mendoza

Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years

Births and deaths

These events bring the family together

Coming closer

Talking when in need

And giving that shoulder to cry on

This is what your family is all about

Going to the family reunion

Hanging out and playing games with your cousins

Seeing that one side of the family from across the country

Always having your grandparents pay for your gifts

This is what your family is all about

100 Plastics Forks

By Emma Stephens

My family is a hard thing to explain

With six very different yet

Similar members

Each with a different laugh

And different looks and faces

We all seem to get on each others nerves

Yet we all know we love each other

My father is the foundation

He’s the calm one of the family

Never yelling or raising his voice

He’s always telling us we’re lucky he’s immature

‘cause we’ll always have a fun

Even if it seems every thing’s toppling on top of us

My mother is the cook, the punisher,

the housekeeper, the maid

yet she always seems to make it work

even though she sometimes breaks down.

But she always keeps going,

even when my little sister won’t stop crying.

My sisters are crazy, all three of them

We never stop messing with each other.

We always find something

amazingly interesting to do,

like finding out how many goldfish we can

fit into our mouths or

thinking of 100 uses for plastic forks.

That’s my family, all six of us.

Always helping each other out

Through thick and thin

And through all our differences,

We will always be there for each other

Especially when we’re finding  100 uses for plastic forks

Family

By: Kaitlyn Hafdell

My family is great.

My family is loud.

My family is fun.

My family is loving.

Some days I can get along with my family

and some days I get angry with them.

Some days I want to be with my family

and some days I want to just be alone.

But there are moments that are special.

Moments that bring happiness

and moments that bring joy.

Moments of our love

and moments of our kindness

Moments that everyone remembers.

Even though my family is very loud

it is my family.

Even though my family is annoying

they are related to me.

My family and I are one

no family is like my family.

Family

By: Kai Miller

Family is what wakes me up in the morning.

Family is how I know right from wrong.

Family is there for me when im mourning.

Family is what keeps me strong.

Family is life.

Family is great.

Family couldn't be cut with a knife.

Family, I coul not hate.

Family will always be there.

Family will always give advice.

Family is always aware.

Family is family, now don't think twice.

What is a family?

By: Nikolas Kessler

A family is something that is always there for you,

They are there from birth to the day you die,

Your family will be there through and through,

A family is always there to to say goodbye.

Families are there to celebrate special events,

They are people that you care about,

Familes spend time together, even in tents,

you tell them what your life is all about.

Spending weekends together,

Telling about your day and having fun,

A family is a group of people that you will remember forever,

They are there during snow, rain, wind, and sun.

A family is important in everyones' lives,

They will be there and supprot you all the way,

Families are as strong as knives,

You will be with your family from June to May.

 Family

by Craddock

Family

Good times and bad,

We’ve been happy and sad.

Days of mourning,

days of celebration.

We do everything together,

like brick and mortar we hold ourselves together.

We help each other out,

Help each other when help is needed.

When one falls down,

we pick them up.

Family is like a football team,

everybody must work together.

Everyone must watch each other’s backs,

and strive to help one another.

My family almost was not a family,

But now were back together.

And I love my family,

even though they are crazy at times.

Family

By:Timothy Nunez

Their are families that stay together.

Their are families that break apart.

Their are families that support each other.

Their are families that don't.

Their are families that are rich.

Their are families that are poor.

Their are families that have pets.

Their are families that don't.

Their are families that have children.

Their are families that don't.

Their are parents that show love.

Their are parents that show hate.

Their are children that show respect.

Their are children that show disrespect.

Be greatful for your family and treat it with care.

In life you only get one family once.

Two Sisters

By: Sophie Leahy

My sister and I

Live in two places

Give kisses goodbye

To familiar faces

Then say hello to another

At the next home

Give a hug to a brother

No need to roam

Live there a few days

Then pack up ou clothes

On to the next phase

How it will go no one knows

Two separate vacations

Two separate celebrations

Two cities to live in

Two sisters together we have been

My family

By: Brandon Goodreau

My family does everything for me

And in turn I do things for them

When I am down they pick me up

I love them more than anything

I have a large family

There are big ones,

small ones,

skinny ones,

and even fat ones

Together we make quite a group

We do many things together

Including celebrate holidays and birthdays

And no matter what they do

I will love them all for as long as I live

Families
By: Keely Stevenson

My family is something I love

you can not take that away from me

it is a gift from the great above

given to us by the Great Almighty

some people think that they are a bother

and i feel bad for them

because they do not know how it feels to lose a mother or a father

maybe they should just be gratefull for her or him

with sisters and brothers running around the house

with parents doing this or that

sometimes it feels like a crazy nuthouse

sometimes they even trip ver the cat

from families that are big

and to families that are small

love is passed on like a little jig

even when you are passing down the hall

Family

By: Emilija Stojanovic

Family, they mean the world to me.

They are always there.

No matter what happens,

They show that they care.

When you fall down,

They put you back on your feet.

They guide you through your tears,

And join you in laughter.

They were with you since the day you said hello,

And they'll stay with you until the day you say goodbye.

They always sit by you and show their support.

Even when you fight, things end up better.

Friends can change,

They can leave you, and never turn back.

But family is a stronger bond,

They can never turn their backs on you no matter what.
